Lake Devonshire
Lake Devonshire was constructed in the early 1980's to serve primarily as stormwater control for the newly developed Devonshire Neighborhood. The lake may serve to alleviate flooding but also provides the community with a wonderful amenity that has become the identity of the neighborhood. The Lake is situated on land controlled by the LDHA. The association is charged with maintaining the quality of the water as well as the shoreline and walking paths surrounding the lake. Lake Devonshire's maintenance and the maintenance of the common spaces make up the majority of expenditures for the LDHA.
Swimming and Water Quality
Swimming in Lake Devonshire is strictly prohibited. As the lake is the recipient of all the run-off street water in our neighborhood, care should be taken to prevent detergents (car washing), oil, anti-freeze, etc., from entering the street (and hence the lake) from your property. In the summer, similar considerations should also apply to the use of fertilizer and herbicides close the edge of the lake. Please do not put pet waste into the lake.
